Ligmincha Texas Institute for Meditative & Healing Arts

New Year Greetings 2012

Houston Ligmincha Institute

Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche will broadcast greetings from the Winter retreat. For details click here.

Greetings from Dorothy Matthews.

As the 2011 calendar year closes, it is good to reflect on our meditation practice and connection to a spiritual base. Many blessings have accompanied many challenges. New and exciting experiences await us in the coming year.

Our teachers have given us very precious words to live by, and many of them have expressed warm wishes and blessings of the season to all. Geshe Denma Gyaltsen sends joy, peace, hope, goodwill, kindness, friendship, unity, and love and asks us to share these with one another and with all sentient beings.

We hope you will join us in 2012, especially in welcoming our beloved founder, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche during his annual Houston visit in January. We look forward to growth and change for Ligmincha Texas in 2012 and invite your involvement.

Best wishes and special heartfelt thanks to the many people who make Ligmincha Texas possible.

Greetings from Leslie Abruzo.

As this year draws to a close. I want to personally thank everyone who has helped support our new center, our teachers and our events.

We've had a busy and productive year. In addition to Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche's annual January retreat, we hosted six teaching events from visiting Lamas including: Geshe Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche, Geshe Denma Gyaltsen, H.E. Kundrol Rinpoche & Khenpo Tenzin Dargye, and Geshe Yong Dong as well a retreat on Trul Khor with Dr. Alejandro Chaoul. We also co-hosted a visit from Dr. Barry Clark. None of this could have happened without the hard work and financial support of our members. So again, Thank YOU!

In the coming year, we hope to continue to provide a fertile home for Bön Buddhist teachings and teachers. Toward that end, we are in the midst of applying for our 501c3 status with the U.S. Government. This step will allow you to claim a tax deduction for donations to Ligmincha Texas. It is my understanding of the tax code, that this will be retroactive to any donations made in 2011.

To facilitate record keeping, I have been keeping track of all financial transactions on Quickbooks. I started this in January 2011 and so I have accurate and complete records for this year. I am now able to print a report and let you know how much you have donated and/or spent here. (Anonymous cash donations excepted!) All you have to do is ask via email to me (leslieabuso@mac.com), and I can email it to you.

I have undertaken this task in an effort to make our finances more transparent to everyone. Therefore, if you would like to "see the books," please feel free to contact me for an appointment.

Finally, pledges and donations are still be accepted for this year. (It is not too late!) If you would like to make a contribution, please mail checks to:
